Food Porn take 1

Luckily comments come in via my email so you all caught me at breakfast on Saturday and I started snapping away at my treat day or also know as "Food Porn Day" in our house :-) (FPD=Food Porn Day).  If the aim was to eat as much as you could of foods you craved then I did myself proud!

So in no particular order here it is .....

Breakfast at Cote: OH MY WORD!!!! drizzled with syrup YUM-MEEEEE

Lunch: a bowl of pork fillet chunks in pasta, olive oil and cheese

Starbucks *quadruple* chocolate chip muffin & coffee to swish it all down

Bowl of sweet chilli Kettle crisps

Dinner was scrummy roast leg of lamb with Dauphinoise potatoes & red cabbage salad

Heaven on a plate .... yes we ate the WHOLE thing!

Custard cremes, sadly I had about 10, not just 3 :-(

And there you have it folks, the idea is to write down anything you crave throughout the week and have it on FPD, I had the muffin and the awesomely cheezy pasta on my list, for the rest my taste buds led the way on the day.  One thing to note here is that I was actually a lot hungrier on FPD and only the last 3 custard cremes were consumed once fullness had been reached.  To be honest the idea of actually being allowed to eat what I crave, all be it on one particular day of the week, appeals to me and makes the rest of the week and its ........ poached/steamed/chicken/turkey/vegetable/bean/legume/pulse eating fest bearable :-)

I bought Jamie Oliver's 30 Minute Meals whilst shopping the other day (only £8.99 ... couldn't resist) so the dessert and the red cabbage salad (which was divine btw) are from there.
Today has been a struggle getting over the carb sugar rush induced by yesterday but I've made it through.  Looking forwards the the week ahead and stream lining what we eat.

Oh on a side note, I went to my first ever Body Combat class today and throughly enjoyed it, not for the faint of heart but I think it may become a regular Sunday thing for me.

  1. Might have to invest in the 30 minute meals book as I liked the sound of the red cabbage salad. From the programmes I've seen his 30 minutes looks pretty optimistic though!

  3. I don't like the layout of JO's 30 minute meal book, if you want to cook just one dish it's far too confusing as it's all mixed in with other recipes :(

  4. Rob: 30 minutes if you're JO, more like 45 to 60 if you're me :-)
Maria: Just a normal choc muffin from Starbucks but it felt SO chocolaty after having no sweet stuff ... I got my moneys worth thats for sure!
DF: I hear you, you have to do his set menu to really make sense of it all and it's tricky to take one item out the equation - having said that the 2 I did were salad & dessert no not tooooo difficult.

  5. I love Body Combat! I used to do it 3 times a week and never got bored. Unfortunately I moved and they don't have any classes nearby :-(
I love the idea of FPD - the idea of writing down what you crave would really make me look forward to eating it and savouring it.
