5 days in 1 post??!!?!

Morning, evening or afternoon to all around the world.  Today has been Fathers Day in England & the boys have done dad proud.  Its been a lovely relaxed day, I haven't even had to cook as we went out for lunch and now I'm sitting with a lovely cuppa tea, my feet up and writing this blog.

*interlude .... I've just realised its nearly 8:30pm and the kids are still out in the garden & its school tomorrow so excuse me for a minute or two*

OK I'm back and they were in the office not the garden!!

We had a sociable weekend this weekend which obviously means lots of good but naughty foods and lots of vino and for the hubster .... beeeeeeer.

Saturday morning started out with me volunteering at our local park run which is a 5km run around the park every saturday (all for free btw).  Over 200 people turned up to do the run which surprised be because it was PIDDLING down with rain when I got there but fortunately stopped about 15 minutes before the race started .... runners were muddy but I was fine with my wellies on.

I was "token support" which meant keeping the lady handing out the tokens fully supplied

In the afternoon we had far flung visitors from New Zealand here which provided food for the soul.  Hubby cooked up amazing curry and dahl & various accompaniments - it was AMAZBALLS!  I did dessert - meringue nest with strawberry & rhubarb compote and vanilla ice cream .... but I only remembered to take a picture AFTER it was all finished!!!! DOH!
Clean plates all round :-)

Socialising aside I have been slightly remiss with regards to exercise this weekend:
Monday: 30 minute home DVD workout (strength)
Tuesday: 3miles
Wednesday: 1 hour Yoga DVD
Thursday: 5miles
Friday: 4miles
Saturday: NADDA
Sunday: NADDA .... even though there was a 9mile run on the schedule :-(

I'm slightly disappointed in myself (I certainly had the time) but I've just jelled and hung out with the family & friends which has also been great.  I've got a busy day tomorrow but I might try do something in the afternoon - I'm not saying a 9mile catch up but maybe???!!!  We'll see ... talk about noncommittal ;-)

How was your weekend? What did you get up to? Rate it out of ten?
Mine was a 9/10 .... could have been 10 if I'd done my run this morning ;-)

Tablet Tuesday

Well I set my alarm this morning for 6am - I use the "Sleep Alarm" app (I've be trying it out for a week now) .... it woke me up at 05:34
Yeah, you got it - I turned it off and went back to sleep!

Finally hauled a$$ out of bed (feeling tender DOMS in my legs from yesterdays home DVD workout), got dressed, got the kiddos up, fed everyone breakfast, packed lunches & got them to school.

Then we (hubster & I) headed in the direction of the M25 for the minimum 3 hour round-trip to go fetch our Mr Rufus who has been at the Royal Veterinary College for tests to find out why he is not well - - he's a mess basically but its all treatable :-)*
Thats a heck of a lot of tablets for ANYone!

Sleeping Resting pups xx

I managed to collect the kids and now its on to finish off the day and see if I can muster the energy for 3miles on Freddie.

Have you ever tried or not tried a delayed alarm based on sleep pattern?  If so Why?
I wanted to wake up restful of a morning but a whole half an hour before I actually want/need to get up irked me this morning.

Running Tights - the gorgeous and the *turn away now* type

Remember when I was discussing the financial limit I had subconsciously set on paying for a pair of running tights? see HERE

Well I didn't pay £78.00 for a pair of running tights but I did pick up on Maria's recommendation and headed over to Thoosa to see what they had on their site and I took the plunge and ordered a pair of 3/4 tights
I  these in a big way, so much so I didn't put them in the tumble dryer - YIP ... THAT is how much I  these :-)
And yes they make me feel like I look like the picture above - True story!

But then I got it in my head I needed a pair of purple capri's ... every one needs a pair - YES?

uuuum YES and NO ;-)

They looked great with my vest top ...

.... uuuuum, the post run look was less attractive :-(

I still like them but may renegade them to Zumba, yoga and/or slouching around the house because the colour is divine ... when its not sweating too much!
Oh AND Thoosa over on Facebook had a discount going when I ordered and I missed entering the code, I whinged about it .... the lovely Caroline sent me an email to say she'd refunded me the discount ... go show her some FB love HERE*

Today I ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill, it was hot (see above sweat!); but I survived so I could post sweaty crotch pictures YECH and I think my body may have fully recovered from whatever it was that was giving me man-flu.

*Thoosa did not sponsor nor provide samples or freebies I just think their running tights are awesome and make me feel sexy, I mean comfortable whilst running.
